So, it was a sunny Saturday here in Lisbon and I was invited to go with a friend to one of the most beautiful places on the outskirts of the city, called Sintra.
Unfortunately it was something decided on the moment and I only had my mobile, not a decent camera to take pictures, the following images are of the amazing Quinta da Regaleira, this was the Summer house of a family built in the early 1900’s.
These two are from what is called the “Initiation Well”, the owner was a Mason and here was where new members would be inducted in the order. The ceremony would take place on the bottom and the other members would be on the spiral staircase upwards per level of importance and seniority.
We also took the chance to go to the “Boca do Inferno”, which translates to “Hell’s Mouth”
